  • Vatican City – The Peace and Fraternity audience is worth 6,240,771 views. Be Human, the World Meeting on Human Fraternity held in Rome and Vatican City on Friday and Saturday, attracted attention from all over the world. Thus 475 posts on the accounts of the Fratelli tutti Foundation, promoter of the event, registered a record number of people exceeding 6 million.

The event was opened by Vatican Secretary of State H.E. Cardinal Pietro Parolin at the Palazzo della Cancelleria on Friday morning in the presence of Fratelli tutti Foundation President H.E. Cardinal Mauro Gambetti. More than 30 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and non-governmental organisations met there to discuss a document on Fraternity that will be released in the coming hours.

On Saturday, Pope Francis received the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and keynote speakers from the various round tables in a Papal Audience and reminded them “In a world facing the fires of conflict, you have come together with the intention of reaffirming your “no” to war and “yes” to peace, bearing witness to the humanity that unites us and makes us recognize ourselves as brothers and sisters, in the mutual gift of our respective cultural differences.”

In the afternoon the 12 round tables, from school to social media to sport to mayors, met to discuss the meaning of fraternity and community, of being together. About 1,500 people attended the round tables. There were 250 speakers and guests.

The round table “Children: Future Generation” on Saturday afternoon was attended by Pope Francis with 130 children and 240 auditors for a total of 370 participants.

The work continues, coordinated by the Secretary General of the Fratelli tutti Foundation Father Francesco Occhetta S.I., to arrive at the next Meeting, the third, in the 2025 Jubilee Year (12-13 September). The goal is to write a Human Charter that goes beyond and updates the Charter of Human Rights.
